All three forms of virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR) are here to stay and are gaining popularity at a faster rate than anyone could have predicted. With the present evolution of the Internet, it is about adding more dimensions in order to enable real-time interactions to take place without any restriction. The transition is taking place in the shape of Virtual Reality, or VR, which has progressed from its early days of research and development – developed by universities and institutions – to becoming a consumer product that is available to everyone who wants to use it.

In the end, it is likely that the future will be a hybrid of virtual reality and augmented reality. And while we may not yet be there, it is nevertheless worthwhile to consider how to negotiate the two realities—and perhaps how to merge them—that we are currently confronted with.
